"Inspiration” is back at VHS. The Myrna Loy Statue is back on the
front lawn at Venice High School.
Thank you to everyone that attended and supported VHS for the unveiling ceremony. We had close to 1,800 Gondos
and community members to witness this historic event.
Highlights of the day included: The VHS Marching Band & Cheer Squad; Martin Bennett’s swingin’ band - US 99;
unveiling of the Walk of Fame pavers; student-run booths; musical performance by Westside Crew; guest speakers Beau Bridges and past principals, Sheila Hirschberg, Bud Jacobs & Jan Davis;
Peter Schwab receiving a Myrna maquette; vintage cars on display; and awesome Harley Davidsons.
• Check out our Collector’s Pins at our Gondo Shop (they’re going fast!)
• Reserve your 2011 Centennial Commemorative Calendar here
• It’s not to late to be added to the Walk of Fame.
Pavers can be ordered here.
AND….the fun does not stop.
We are preparing for, in the fall, our honoree dinner and Homecoming Parade.
June 2011 – we will celebrate VHS’s centennial with a bang.
Hope to see you … Rowing Not Drifting.
